Apple is making a notable change to in-app subscriptions. Starting this summer, app users will be able to resolve billing issues directly in-app if a subscription renewal fails. The feature is available on iOS 16.4.Read the official announcement.

Apple has won its appeals court battle with Fortnite maker Epic Games over its App Store policies. A federal court ruled on April 24 that Apple does not have a monopoly in the mobile games market.Read the Bloomberg article.
[Google offers alternative payment options]
In response to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Google has put forward a proposal that would grant developers offering apps through its UK Play mobile app store the freedom to utilize alternative payment processors for in-app transactions. Read the official announcement of Google.
Subscription Optimization: some learnings from Strava
What is the Negative Test? It’s removing from the user experience, or purposefully making an experience worse, to understand the impact (both positive or negative) the thing you removed has.
In 2019, one of the teams at Strava focused on lowering our mobile app and feed load times. Over the course of 6 months, they made massive gains in improving key performance metrics [...]
We needed to test the summation of all the performance gains we had found. So we ran a negative test where we slowed down the user experience for a very small percentage of users to measure the result in retention. Not only did we observe a significant change in retention, but we were able to relate the retention impact to overall revenue.
